Richard Spilker

Richard Spilker was called to the Bar in 1976 and for the past 20 years has restricted his practice to personal injury claims.  He has served three terms on the Provincial Counsel of the Canadian Bar Association and is a past president of the Kootenay Bar Association.  He has also served as County Representative for the Trial Lawyers Association of BC.

In his personal injury practice, Richard has represented clients with catastrophic personal injuries including severe traumatic brain injuries and quadriplegia.  He has also represented families who have lost a member in a fatal accident.

He has represented clients throughout British Columbia and Alberta.

Mr. Spilker acts for clients on a contingency fee basis which means his legal fees are a percentage of the final settlement.

 

Kenneth R. Watson

Ken Watson has continuously practiced law since 1969 when he was called to the Alberta Bar.  He moved from Calgary to the West Kootenays in 1980 at which time he was called to the British Columbia Bar.  He conducted a general practice until 2001 and since then he has focused on all aspects of business law and real estate development as well as on wills, trusts, wealth preservation and estates.

Over the years he has been active with and has represented numerous charitable organizations having many different areas of focus.

 

 

Christopher E. Smith

Chris is a Nelson local and graduate of L.V. Rogers High School and has returned to Nelson to pursue his legal career.  He currently practices in the area of civil and commercial litigation and real estate and business conveyancing.  Chris holds an honours degree in philosophy from the University of Victoria and a bachelor of laws degree from the University of Saskatchewan, College of Law.  After completing his articles with our firm he was admitted as a member of the British Columbia Bar in June 2010.

Chris is an active board member the Osprey Community Foundation and the Nelson Rowing Club.
